Julia Helena Bernhart
Mezzo-Soprano
After graduating in singing from the University «Mendelssohn-Bartholdy» in Leipzig, German mezzo-soprano Julia Helena Bernhart specialized in Lied repertoire at the University of Trossingen and studied privately with Charlotte Lehmann. She was a member of the Young Singer Project of the Salzburg Festival, under the musical direction of Daniele Gatti and the production of Stefan Herheim.
Winner of numerous competitions for young artists, her repertoire includes works by C. Gounod, W. A. Mozart, G. Rossini, J. Strauss, R. Strauss, as well as an extensive concert program. She regularly holds lieder recitals, concerts at the Bach Festival in Leipzig and has been a soloist with Beethoven's 9th Symphony at the Glocke Bremen, the NDR Funkhaus Hannover and the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg.
Recently Julia Helena sang Tisbe in Cenerentola at the Teatro Sociale in Como, Teatro Donizetti Bergamo and in other Italian opera houses, the role of Thruth in G. F. Händel's oratorio The Triumph of Time and Truth at the Oper oder Spree Festival in Neuzelle (D) and Cleone in Alessandro by G. F. Händel at the Theater Bamberg with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie Orchestra conducted by Gottfried von der Goltz.
In concert she has sung Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Elias, Bruckner's solo parts Mass in F minor, Mozart's Requiem, Bach's Magnificat, Vivaldi's B minor Mass, Christmas Oratorio and Vivaldi's St. Matthew's Passion.
Future engagements include Tisbe in Cenerentola in Como, Fermo, Fano and Modena.
