Rory Green
Baritone
Rory is a British baritone and student of Thomas Quasthoff at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, Berlin. He is a young artist of Nevill Holt Opera, a 2019 Live Music Now Young Artist and a recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium. He attended masterclasses held by Burkhard Fritz, Kirsten Schötteldreier, Eberhard Feltz, Nicholas Lester and Sophie Raynaud.
He was a finalist at the AsLiCo competition in Como (Italy), the Wigmore Hall International Song Competition, and the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang, and he won the special Resonanzen prize at the Cesti Competition in Innsbruck.
Recent highlights include Junius in The Rape of Lucretia at the Kühlhaus Berlin (Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester), Händel’s Messiah (Nevill Holt Opera, Britten Sinfonia), J. S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio (Berliner Camerata), Pilate in St John Passion (Opus Vocale), Aeneas (Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler), Fauré’s Requiem (St Peter’s College, Oxford), Nick Shadow in The Rake’s Progress (Music Camp, scenes), Adonis in Venus and Adonis by John Blow (Eden Valley Opera), Fisherman in Sleepless by Peter Eötvös at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, MÜPA Budapest and Staatsoper unter den Linden Berlin, King of France in Francesca di Foix by Gaetano Donizetti at the Bad Meinberg Festival, Poivrot in Melancholie des Widerstands by Marc-André Dalbavie and Hunter in Schneewittchen by Wolfgang Mitterer at the Staatsoper unter den Linden Berlin.
